Cause you know what I did, I took the top five complaints. You never show up on time, you don’t start on time, you don’t finish on time, you change order us to death, you tell me one price and it turns out to be another, you don’t have senior management on site and you don’t stand behind your work, you’re fly by night you’ll be gone tomorrow the day after I pay you, your gone.
So I said fine, here’s your standard proposal base on the scope of work, here’s the guarantee. The guarantee says “we will pick a date, we will start on that date no matter what the weather, we will finish no matter what on that day or before, there will be no contractor driven change orders if you don’t change the scope of work change the scope of work then will have addendum there’ll be a guarantee on that, there’ll be a senior project manager on every site and we guarantee everything for at least a year”. Now I put a thirty-five percent premium on that here in Mars county and so my average sale in 1985 was fifty thousand dollars, my average guarantee sale was sixty seven five and the guarantee sale outsold the standard, two to one.
