Hi Everyone, Carl Gould here your #70secondCEO, just over a minute of investment per day for a lifetime of results.
I’m at 5,280 feet above sea level, I’m in the mile high city, Denver, Colorado. See some of the Rockies in the background, I’m just outside the city, getting a little inspiration in front of one of the local parks as I wrap up the week and I start to prepare myself for the coming week which will include a little bit of a vacation so I am very excited about that.
You know there is an international conference here, what was interesting about the conference was, there were people from all over the world, multiple countries, multiple contents, continents! Sorry about that. And they were talking about their business experience, sharing wisdom, sharing their business experience and talking about what they have been doing to grow their business and how they were going to be successful. And one of the things that struck me was how much time they spent on the problem as opposed to the solution.
They were spending an inordinate amount of time complaining about the past and the problem. The thing about it was, it was interesting, it reminded me about how addicting problems can be and how much adrenaline and drama you can create by focusing on the problems that you are having. We all have them right? We all suffer from challenges, issues, core issues that we deal with in our life. It seems to be that it’s easier and sometimes more enjoyable to focus on the problem. It’s a lot harder to focus on the solution. So, what’s the right mix, what’s the right amount of time that should be spent on each?
